Royal Bodewes - Mini bulker 'Elke K.'

Centraalstaal has supplied the complete building kit for The 733 / Elke K., a mini bulker with a deadweight of 5150 tons, mainly sailing the North Sea and the Baltics. The Elke K. is the first of a series of three vessels for Alster Shipping from Hamburg. Part of the 5150 dwt Bodewes Eco Trader series, the Elke K. features a distinctive energy-saving bow. The stem is straight with an upper slope, allowing it to slice easily through waves with less resistance. The double hull design is characterized by a bulbless straight bow with an almost vertical stem profile, resulting in improved seagoing characteristics.
