Centraalstaal has a long-standing and trusted partnership with Ferus Smit, a renowned shipyard known for their expertise in building high-quality vessels, particularly for niche markets. Ferus Smit, with shipyards in both Westerbroek, the Netherlands, and Leer, Germany, has a reputation for innovative ship designs, including the pioneering 'NaabsaMax' coastal tankers.

As one of the many examples of our successful collaboration, Centraalstaal provided the building kit for the first of the two 'NaabsaMax' coastal tankers, namely 'Thun Blyth', commissioned by Thun Tankers A.B. from Sweden. The term 'NaabsaMax' stands for 'Not Always Afloat But Safely Aground'. It denotes vessels specifically designed for calling at niche ports with tidal restrictions, allowing them to safely rest on the seabed during low tide while loading or unloading. 'Thun Blyth' measures 80 meters in length, 14.99 meters in width, and 9.0 meters in depth, powered by a 1950 kW main engine. The vessel is equipped with 8 coated cargo tanks with a total capacity of 4900 m3, suitable for transporting oil products and IMO type II chemicals.
