Van Oord - 'Aeolus' - Repair of Deck, Sponsoons, and Flow bodies
Van Oord, a leading company in marine engineering and maritime solutions, is renowned for its innovative approach and entrepreneurial spirit. Driven by their concept of 'Marine ingenuity,' they design and execute projects that add value for their clients and contribute to a better society.
One of their key vessels is the Aeolus, an offshore installation vessel commissioned in 2014. The Aeolus is specifically designed for the construction of wind farms and is equipped with a crane that has a lifting capacity of over 1,600 tons. This makes the vessel ideal for transporting and installing foundations and wind turbines. Additionally, the Aeolus features an advanced jacking system with four legs, each 85 meters long and weighing 920 tons, enabling it to operate in water depths of up to 45 meters.
Centraalstaal contributed to the functionality of the Aeolus by performing repairs on the deck, sponsoons, and flow bodies. Through these efforts, we have enhanced the reliability and efficiency of this vital vessel in the offshore wind industry.
